After contacting Jan Wilcox of Mercy Folsom, a local affiliation resource for the National Let’s Move Program, the two women joined forces to set up a free cooking event at Whole Foods Market in Folsom on August 18th. The packed class of 16 kids between the ages of 8 and 12 were engaged in a fully interactive cooking and nutrition lesson that included kitchen safety, nutrition information, hands on cooking, take home treats and many other educational cooking related activities.
